Desert jeep rally held

BAHAWALPUR, March 12: The second TDCP desert jeep rally held at Derawar Fort, about 70km from here, on Sunday. Tourism minister Aslam Iqbal performed the flag-off ceremony.

There were 74 participants in the rally, and they were divided into three categories in accordance with the engines’ horse power.

They covered a distance of 226km in the desert and reached the finishing point near Derawar Fort in the evening.

Each of the first, second and third participant of the three categories was given a cash prize of Rs100,000, Rs75,000 and Rs50,000, respectively.—Correspondent
