ISLAMABAD, March 11: Islamabad Leopards went free-wheeling to a nine-wicket victory against Karachi Dolphins on Saturday in the National One-day Regional Silver League fixture, thanks to an undefeated century by Afaq Rahim.

Opener Afaq’s fine knock of 112 off 138 balls in which he hit 17 fours helped the hosts easily overhaul the visitors’ low total of 190 at the Diamond Cricket Ground.

Together with Bazid Khan, who scored 48 not out, he shared 146 runs for the unbroken second wicket after the fall of opener Ashar Zaidi for 24.

The Islamabad bowlers made good use of overcast early morning conditions after putting the opponents in and reduced them to 90 for five which made life difficult for Karachi.

Paceman Rauf Akbar with four for 44 and Zohaib Ahmed who claimed three for 36 restricted the Dolphins. Afsar Nawaz top-scored with 49.
