Fire destroys 10 tents

MUZAFFARABAD, March 11: At least 10 tents were gutted when fire erupted at a tent village set up at Neelam Park for survivors of the Oct 8 earthquake. No casualties were reported, police said on Saturday.

Muzaffarabad Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Liaqat Hussain said belongings of people living in the tents were destroyed.

He said a fire brigade team and administration officials had controlled a fire but another fire broke out and quickly engulfed other tents. He said the fire started when a woman was cooking meal.—APP
