KARACHI, March 4: Inspired by second successive century from Kiran Baloch Karachi registered their second win in National women cricket championship when they overwhelmed Quetta Region with a record margin of 233 runs on Saturday at PCB Academy Ground.

Kiran who earlier blasted superb hundred against Hyderabad came out with more improved performance to hit an unbeaten 162 off 138 deliveries including 19 boundaries as Karachi amassed 281 in stipulated 40 overs while batting first.

She got good support by her opening partner, Urooj Mumtaz who scored 54 with the help of four boundaries before getting run out. Both added 157 runs for the opening wicket. Off spinner

Later spinners, skipper Shazia Khan and Urooj shared eight wickets to tore Quetta’s batting order to restrict them to just 48 runs in 26.4 overs to seal a resounding victory.

The former conceded nine runs while the latter gave away eight runs in their four-wicket hauls.

Nabila Asif 2-8 was the other wicket-taker for the victors. Nahida Khan (10) was the only batswomen to reach double figures for the losers.
