KARACHI, March 4: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that maintaining law and order and ensuring protection of lives and properties of citizens was the responsibility of government and no lapse would be tolerated in this regard.

He stated this while talking to different delegations at the Chief Minister’s House on Saturday.

Arbab Rahim said that federal and provincial governments were performing quite well. He said that provincial government had initiated numerous development projects in rural and urban parts of the province. In the backward areas, a network of roads was being laid to get them connected to developed parts of the province, he maintained.

Criticizing the opposition for their attitude towards the government on issue of blasphemous caricatures, he said that provincial ministers and members of the Sindh Assembly had condemned and protested against the blasphemous caricatures not in front of the assembly building but also staged a protest rally and marched towards Karachi Press Club.

He said that the country was advancing under the leadership of President Musharraf towards a bright future.

He said that no stone would be left unturned to create jobs in the province.

Those who called on the Sindh chief minister included Sardar Ali Gohar Khan Mahar, provincial ministers Syed Saddaruddin Shah Rashdi, Irfanullah Khan Marwat, Sardar Nadir Akmal Leghari, Muhammad Adil Siddiqui, and MPA Rani Ambreen.—PPI
