SHIKARPUR, March 4: A meeting of the school management committee of National Centre for Rehabilitation of Child Labour (NCRCL), organised by Pakistan Baitul Maal, Shikarpur, was held here at Mirani Mohalla on Friday.

The meeting discussed enrolment of students, drop outs of students and lack of teacher-parent relationship.

It was decided to enrol those boys and girls between the age of 8 to 15, who were working in industrial units or labouring privately in different sectors and were not able to continue their education in regular schools. It was also proposed to approach the Baitul Maal authorities for enhancement of the amount of stipend per day fixed for every student and his/her father so that the students and their parents could be able to ensure proper attendance of the students.

The meeting also proposed that half of the amount meant for stipend be given to those student on daily basis who are attending classes instead of handing over the total amount to their parents.

It was felt in the meeting that this would generate interest among the students to continue their attendance in the schools.
