LAHORE: The National Technology Council (NTC) on Tuesday unveiled the latest curriculum for the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Information Security) at a ceremony hosted by the Government College University, Lahore, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and different public and private sector universities of Punjab.

NTC Chairman Engineer Imtiaz H Gilani chaired the ceremony and underlined the importance of integrating advanced technological training into academic disciplines.

GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ahmad Adnan, and former education minister Imran Masood also addressed the ceremony.

They elaborated on the curriculum’s significance and its anticipated impact on the sector.

Punjab HEC Director Coordination Dr Tanveer Qasim, Dr Amir Ijaz, Dr Adil Akram and Malik Asif Nazir also attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Engineer Mr Gilani made a compelling case for Pakistan’s need for well-trained technologists to stand alongside its engineers and doctors.

He also highlighted opportunities that are available for such professionals abroad. He said this new curriculum represents a strategic initiative to prepare students for the rapidly evolving field of information security.

The GCU VC called for a curriculum that not only imparts theoretical knowledge but also hones the modern skills required by industry professionals.
