Tariq Aces grab glory

ISLAMABAD, Feb 26: Tariq Aces led by Tariq Aziz with 198 Victory Points won the Islamabad Club international bridge championship on Sunday.

Advisor to Prime Minister on Women Development, Nilofar Bakhtiar, on Sunday encouraged women to participate in sports, particularly in the fascinating game of Bridge.

Candyland led by Mohammad Ismail and Allana led by Jan Alam got second and third positions scoring 175 Victory Point each.

As many as 21 teams featured in the fiercely contested championship which included seven from Karachi, six from Lahore two from Delhi Gymkhana, Indian while rest of the teams were from Islamabad.

Advisor to Prime Minister on Women Development, Nilofar Bakhtiar, who distributed the prizes urged women to participate in sports, particularly in the fascinating game of chess.

She said the game of bridge teaches the players to understand each others, adding “I would like our women to play this game.”—APP
