QUETTA, Feb 26: Balochistan Governor Awais Ahmed Ghani has said that education is inevitable for progress and prosperity and the government is committed to promoting the education sector in the province.
Talking to a delegation of the Pakistan Education Foundation (PEC) led by MPA Raheela Durrani here on Saturday, he said the government is setting up a law university in Quetta with technical and financial assistance of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Besides, he said, proposals for establishing a public library and medical and veterinary university equipped with the latest facilities are also under consideration.
These projects will also be sponsored by the HEC, the Governor informed. He said the government is implementing projects worth billions of rupees for promotion of higher education in the province.
Earlier, the delegation briefed the Governor about the services of PEC for uplift of education sector and said the commission is working n self-help basis. Lauding the services of the commission for the community, he expressed the hope that it will work with same spirit and devotion in future as well.
The Governor also announced Rs50,000 as a reward for the commission for its services.—APP
