TIMERGARA, Feb 24: Teachers of the Upper and Lower Dir districts have called upon the provincial government to promote subject specialists of various cadres. In separate statements issued here on Thursday, the teachers expressed anguish over the delay in the issuance of notification in this regard.

They said that about 75 per cent of the total posts of subject specialists in higher secondary schools used to be filled through the public service commission (PSC) before 2005, while 25 per cent were promoted through batch-wise policy.

The teachers threatened that they would stage agitation in March if the notification was further delayed.
