HYDERABAD, Feb 24: The Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz has decided not to attend the all-party conference convened by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement on February 25.

Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, JSQM chairman Basheer Qureshi accused the MQM of being pro-Punjab on issues like the Kalabagh dam, military operation in Baloch-istan, the NFC award and other anti-Sindh projects. He called upon the MQM to announce a clear stand on these issues.

He said the JSQM had always believed that there should be a close understanding between the Urdu-speaking people and the Sindhis because Sindh’s real opponents were Punjab and its establishment.

He said the MQM had always taken a pro-Punjab stand after coming into power and now it has placed the burning issues of Sindh on the backburner to safeguard its own interests. He said the MQM had only paid lip service to the cause of Sindh.
