KARACHI: Scouts selection camp

KARACHI, Feb 17: The Sindh Boy Scouts Association on Friday announced the names of the scouts selected for President’s Gold Medal and Chief Scout Commissioner Award 2005.

The scouts were selected by a committee consisting of Prof Raees Alvi, Registrar, University of Karachi and Assistant Provincial Scout Commissioner, Col. Shah Ali, Akhtar Meer, Ghulam Sarwar Mashori and Hamid Qureshi, after a three day selection camp.

Scout Tariq Raja of Karachi Open District was selected for President’s Gold Medal 2005 while Scout Asif Aslam of Ismaili district Karachi and Scout Syed Farhad Ali of Hyderabad were selected for Chief Scout Commissioner Award 2005.

Scout Mohammad Shoaib Channa of Khairpur and Mohammad Osama of Hyderabad stood second and third respectively in the contest to gold medal.

In all 24 scouts from across the province participated in the three-day selection camp.—PPI
