DERA ISMAIL KHAN: An oil tanker driver was killed and his assistant injured after the vehicle caught fire in Sarobai area of Darazinda tribal subdivision here on Saturday night.
A Rescue 1122 spokesman said the tanker was heading towards Peshawar from Quetta when it overturned at an inclined area, and caught fire.
As a result, the vehicle’s driver died on the spot and his assistant got injured. He said rescue teams rushed to the site, controlled the fire and shifted the body and the injured to hospital.
The deceased and injured were identified as Tasleem Marwat, 45, and Mustafa, belonging to Lakki Marwat.
Meanwhile, the district administration sealed four liquefied natural gas filling outlets for providing the commodity to public and private vehicles illegally the other day.
Officials said a team led by assistant commissioner, Dera, Farhan Ahmad, launched the action on public complaints.
The team visited a number of LPG refilling outlets on Diyal Road and its adjoining areas and sealed four of them for providing LPG to vehicles illegally. Mr Ahmad said filling of LPG in vehicles was illegal and dangerous for human lives.
