KARACHI, Feb 16: A record cargo volume of 0.110 million tons comprising 0.096 million tons of import and 0.014 tons of export tonnage was handled during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Berthing activity was brisk as five ships to load and offload containers, chemicals, coke and diesel oil were berthed. Two more container ships also arrived at the outer anchorage.

A total of eight ships, Gallant Wave, CMA CGM Nilgai, Ginga Eagle, Keefan, Tain Bai Feng, Armonikos, Enrico Levoli and Polska Wakzca, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, diesel oil, seeds, wheat, chemicals and coke.

Sailing was active as Gallant Wave, Lauren and Enrico Levoli left the port while CMA CGM Nilgai, Armonikos and Tain Bai Feng were due to depart.

Six ships, Saudi Diriyah, QAI Al-Fuja’a, Mar Fina, Astro Spirit, Glory and Euro Ace, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
