RAWALPINDI, Feb 12: One person was shot dead and two others were injured during a highway robbery in the Sihala police area on Sunday.

The police said Murtaza, Nasir and Hassan were going to their village (Sihala) in a car when they found the road blocked. As they stopped, they found a gang of robbers around the vehicle. The robbers held the three persons at gunpoint and forced them to hand them over the cash. Hassan, who was driving the car, gave up Rs6,000 and Nasir also surrendered the cash. However, when the culprits saw that Murtaza was a bit reluctant to give up the cash, they shot him dead. —Staff Reporter
