LAHORE, Feb 10: The PPP has selected Advocate Dr Babar Awan as its candidate for the Senate seat from Punjab. Outgoing Sajjad Bukhari and Khwaja Akbar will be his cover candidates.

Lahore PPP Women’s Wing president Sajida Mir is the party candidate for women’s seat. Ms Nargis Awan will be her cover.

Former adviser Dr Israr Shah will a candidate for technocrat’s seat.

Punjab PPP president Qasim Zia has called a meeting of the provincial parliamentary party for Saturday to introduce the candidates to the legislators.

All candidates will file their nomination papers with the Election Commission.

The PML-N has again nominated former finance minister Ishaq Dar for the Senate seat.

Adviser to prime minister Nilofer Bakhtiar will submit her nomination papers for the Senate seat on Saturday.
