PESHAWAR: An Anti-Terrorism Court on Tuesday sent two police officials allegedly involved in extortion and an attack on the house of a local body representative on five-day physical remand to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

The CTD had requested ATC judge Mohammad Adil Khan for the custody of the officials for further investigation into the case.

The accused, identified as Abdul Qadir and Hayat, were demanding extortion from local government representatives in Bara tehsil of Khyber tribal district.

The investigation officer told the court that as both the accused were named in an FIR, so there was a need to investigate them.
