BOMBAY: Mr Patel’s iron grip on the administration of the Hyderabad State is tightening … according to the few fortunate people who have managed to escape to Bombay. Behind the iron curtain of news censorship, the Muslims bleed and wail but their heart-rending cries are stifled within the State. They are gagged and being removed to prisons of the British regime which housed the 1942 Congress agitators.

According to these persons, Indian administrative control will continue at least for another year. Every effort is being made by the Indian occupation forces not only to purge the services of “undesirables” and disarm and arrest the Razakars but also to give no quarter whatsoever to the state Muslims. Every Muslim is being dubbed a Razakar and an atmosphere of nervousness and uncertainty pervades the white-domed city of Hyderabad. … Communal riots, till now foreign to the soil of Hyderabad, are being brought about … by … the Indian Army. The first one, of which details are yet lacking, took place in Aurangabad on the first day of the occupation of that city… . The disarming of the Muslim inhabitants … was going on side by side with killing and looting by the Indian Army.
