[According to news agencies from Nellore (in present-day Andhra Pradesh)] After more than 72 hours of the cease-fire order by the Nizam of Hyderabad on Sept 17, resistance at Aswaraopet, headquarters of Palwancha taluk of Warrangal District, still continues, according to a frontline dispatch received here. Aswaraopet is just two miles from the Indian Union border of west Godavari District and is being held by a strong force of Razakars and Hyderabad troops. It is learnt that attempts by the Union forces … to contact and acquaint them with the recent developments culminating in the surrender of the Hyderabad Army did not bear fruit as our messenger with a white flag was shot at and not allowed to approach Aswaraopet.
