PESHAWAR: The first edition of the three-day Rural Youth Summit 2023 will commence here on Tuesday (today).

The Pakistan Community Support Project (PCSP) in partnership with the World Bank is organising the event, according to a statement issued here on Monday.

It said the concluding day of the event had been reserved for women.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker Chief Minister Mohammad Azam Khan will be the chief guest. World Bank Country Director for Pakistan Najy Benhassine will also be in attendance.

The event is aimed at equipping the youth, including women, of rural areas with digital tools and latest technologies.

The statement said youth hailing from the rural areas of Khyber, Peshawar and Nowshera districts, which are the project implementation areas of PCSP, would participate in the event themed ‘digital solutions for rural youth’.

In addition to dedicated sessions to enable knowledge transfer, ideas sharing, skills development and experience exchange, the event will also provide a platform for the youth to explore innovative ideas to tackle local development challenges.

This collaboration between the KP government and the World Bank highlights their shared vision for sustainable development through youth empowerment.

The event will enable the youth to engage with experts and peers on rural development issues, thus developing their knowledge, improving their skills, and promoting their role in shaping Pakistan’s future.

The three-day event would be packed with engaging panel discussions on vital topics with experts in their respective fields, providing exposure to new technologies that are on display, including augmented reality and artificial intelligence, as well as live workshops led by some of the most sought-after tech professionals coming from all over Pakistan.
