PM to visit Britain

LONDON, Feb 2: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz is scheduled to visit the United Kingdom in the first week of March. Accordin to sources, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will be among the main speakers at a conference being organised the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), in collaboration with the World Bank and Asian Development Bank. The Conference, titled “Asia 2015-Promoting Growth, Ending Poverty,” would take place in London on March 6-7.

According to DFID, the conference would focus attention on building new forms of partnerships to eradicate poverty in Asia where. 650 million people live on less than $1 a day while 882 million are undernourished. Mr Aziz is expected to call on Prime Minister Tony Blair and would also meet parliamentarians and members of the Pakistani community during his visit.
