ISLAMABAD, Jan 25: In a message to mark India’s Republic Day, President Pervez Musharraf has said Pakistan is committed to making peace with India. President Musharraf sent ‘warm felicitations’ to Indian President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam for Thursday’s celebrations and said he hoped the two countries would be able to resolve their ‘core dispute’ over Kashmir and other issues through talks.
“Pakistan remains firmly committed to the improvement of relations with India,” President Musharraf said in the message.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz sent a similar message to his Indian counterpart, Manmohan Singh, expressing hope that a two-year-old peace process would lead to settlement of Kashmir dispute. —-Reuters
