DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education approved rejoining the regular matriculation or intermediate class within five years of leaving the school or college instead of one-year time.

A decision to the effect was taken at the 166th meeting of the board of governors of the Dera Ghazi Khan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Dr Nasir Mahmood Bashir. Board Secretary Abdul Rahman was present.

The students will be able to resume studies in the class they left within five years. Earlier, this facility was limited to only one year.

The chairman said all possible measures would be taken to provide a peaceful educational environment. He said in consultation with the BoG, better facilities would be provided in educational institutions and examination centres.

The board also approved provision of four chances to improve marks.
