SWABI, Jan 19: The tehsil municipal administration has failed to remove encroachment in congested bazaars of the district headquarters. In the city’s main bazaar and Kernel Sher Chowk, each shopkeeper has given the footpath in front of his shop on rent of Rs60 to Rs70 per day to a vendor. The vendors have also occupied parts of roads.
“I have been paying Rs1,800 per month to the shopkeeper,” said a vendor.
Sources allege that owners of markets foil attempts by the municipal administration to remove encroachment.
They also alleged that officials concerned also do not show interest in taking action in this regard.
