LAHORE, Jan 31: The Punjab government has transferred Rs10 million to each district government for the execution of development projects in education sector.
This was stated during a meeting which was chaired by Chief Secretary Imtiaz Masrur at the Civil Secretariat. It was attended by local government, finance and planning and development departments secretaries and DCOs of Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakkar districts.
The chief secretary directed the district governments to identify more projects for further allocation of funds under the Khushal Pakistan Programme.
He said the district governments would have to play a key role in the execution of development programmes in the districts. Such programmes should relate to the improvement of the overall living standards of the people.
The meeting was informed that over Rs972 million had been allocated under the Khushal Pakistan Programme for the four districts whose DCOs attended the meeting while Rs532 million had already been transferred to their accounts.
Funds for the Social Action Programme and normal ADP were being transferred to the districts as per schedule, the meeting was informed.
