LOWER DIR: Samarbagh police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested five persons for defrauding and looting people in guise of military personnel.

The Scout Wing 182 had informed Samarbagh police that a group of five persons was active in the area to defraud locals in the garb of army personnel. Police took notice of the matter and started a search for the group.

Police arrested the accused including a fake captain Zubair, Abdul Hameed, Asim Khan, all residents of Mardan, Mohammad Ismail of Manga Dargai and Javed Iqbal of Gardai Bajaur from the Tittar area of Samarbagh. Police registered a case and started an investigation.

CENSUS: Pakistan Bureau of Statistics district coordinator Bakht Alam has said that all necessary arrangements were finalised for the 7th digital population and housing census to be started on March 1.

He said that training of the relevant staff was completed. He said that concrete measures were taken for security of staff. He said that a total of 116 supervisors and 729 enumerators would work in 207 circles and 1,433 blocks.
