RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha on Thursday asked the district administration to work for providing relief to the public and solve encroachment, traffic, sanitation, revenue and other problems.

Speaking at a meeting, the commissioner said he will visit various union councils early in the morning and personally monitor cleanliness arrangements on the spot.

About illegal housing societies, he said the master plan of Rawalpindi was being prepared under which greenbelts will be identified and no construction will be allowed there.

“Action will be taken against illegal housing societies across the board, however, in this regard, the administration and other stakeholders should play their role and create awareness among the people so that they should not invest in any society which has not been approved.”

He said that revenue officials had been given targets to complete computerisation of land record in all villages of the district as soon as possible.

“They will complete their record within one month and strict departmental action will be taken against Patwaris whose records are found missing after the given time,” he said.
