GILGIT: A national winter sports championship kicked off on Tuesday at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Ski Resort in Naltar Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Teams of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PAF, GB Scouts, GB Winter Sports Association, GB Leopards, GB Ibex and two women’s teams participated in the ice hockey competition.

The final match of the ice hockey competition was played between GB Scouts and KP teams which was won by GB Scouts. The PAF and Winter Sports Federation Pakistan (WSFP) have been organising the event every year at the picturesque valley.

The Shah Khan Ski Cup and a snowboarding contest will start on Feb 2.
