GUJRAT: Two persons were killed in a violent clash over a marriage in Assarh village of Kakrali police precincts late on Wednesday. Two women were also injured in the incident.

Sajid alias Soma of Faisalabad was engaged to Gulshad, the 18-year-old daughter of Allah Ditta, but her parents eventually called off the engagement. This infuriated Sajid, who went over to Ditta’s home and opened fire on his finance’s mother, Shamim Bibi, killing her on the spot. Gulshad and her sister Rozina were also injured in the firing.

In the meantime, Allah Ditta also reached the spot and started thrashing Sajid with a club, leaving him dead.

The body and the injured were shifted to hospital, while police registered a case against two suspects, including deceased Sajid and his accomplice Abdul Sattar, under sections 302, 324 and 34 of the PPC on the report of Allah Ditta, and started an investigation.
