KARACHI, Jan 5: Eight ships carrying urea, coal, steel billets and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where seven vessels, Y.M.Sun, Hyundai Highway, Corin Thaikos, Kota Tabah to unload and load containers, Iran Shaheed, to unload and load general cargo, Sancris to load rice and Swat to offload crude oil were berthed.

The ships, which departed included APL Pusan, Sammi Superstar, Atlantic Express, Thor Jupiter, Red Line-1, Elli and Bow Flower, while Y.M.Sun, Ken Unity, Kota Wangsa and Swat are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total of 0.117m tons comprising 21,613 tons of export cargo and 9,686 tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: H.S.Discoverer, Marime Rickmers, Sagamore, with containers, Zhong Hai, with 40,000 tons of coal, Johar, with crude oil, Evgenia, with 27,000 tons of urea, Iron Butterfly, with project cargo and D.D.Progress, with 18,930 tons of steel billets.
