LAHORE: The district education authority will cancel registration of private schools of the city for not constituting school councils and holding their meetings till Nov 28.

The authority issued directions to all the private schools of the city to constitute school councils and hold their meetings till Nov 28. Strict action, including cancellation of the registration, could be taken against the schools for failing to implement the order.

The authority has started issuing notices to the schools for not constituting school councils. The authority directed the schools to hold council meetings and submit reports along with pictures of the activity.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) also imposed a ban on Class XI book, Aina Imraniyat.

The PCTB officials raided the book publisher and confiscated all the copies of the book.

The officials said that the publisher of the book was printed without approval of the board. They said the board had already issued a notification and imposed a ban on the book whose copies distributed in educational institutes would also be confiscated.
