ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA) inspected 53 healthcare establishments during the past two weeks and sealed 12 of them for different violations.

Health facilities, which were sealed, included Decent Clinic, Khan Clinic, Waqas Dental Clinic, Noor General Hospital, Smile Dental Clinic, Iqra Clinic, Raziq Medical Lab, Life Care Pharmacy and Clinic, Waheed Clinic, Ali Dental Care Clinic, Medicare Diagnostics (Dental Clinic) and others.

They were sealed due to different malpractices like keeping expired and illegal medicines, lack of proper waste management system, absence of qualified staff, lack of proper waste management system and not getting registered with IHRA.

Services of First Care Medical Centre, Rashida Medical Centre, Neelam Clinic, Ayesha Clinic and Maternity Home were suspended for keeping expired medicines and unhygienic conditions.

Besides, 27 healthcare establishments were served notices for different non-compliances and instructed to comply with the directions given by the inspection teams.

One HCE was recommended for registration and revocation of suspension. Nine healthcare establishments were found closed at the time of visit by inspection teams.
