LAHORE:: Pakistan’s veteran player Aqeel Khan, Muzammil Murtaza, Mohammad Shoaib and Barkatullah qualified for the men’s singles semi-finals of the sixth Sheheryar Malik Memorial Pakistan Open Tennis Championship here at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy, Nishtar Park on Wednesday.

Aqeel powered his way to beat Ahmad Nael 6-4, 6-0 in their quarter-final while Shoaib outclassed Abdullah Adnan 6-4, 6-1. In other last-eight matches, Barkatullah drafted a 6-1, 6-3 victory against Yousuf Khalil and Muzammil outplayed his brother Mudassar 6-4, 6-3.

In ladies singles quarter-finals, Sarah Mehboob Khan blanked Zainab Ali 6-0, 6-0, Meheq Khokhar carved out a 6-0, 6-4 win against Amna Qayum Noor Malik routed Zahra Suleman 6-0, 6-1 and Sheeza Sajid crushed Rahay-ul-Ain 6-2, 6-2.

Meanwhile, Rashid Malik beat Waheed 6-1, 6-1 in the seniors 50-plus quarter-final.
