Uproar over ‘illegal’ car parking fee near Burns Garden

KARACHI: People living nearby Burns Garden on Muhammad Bin Qasim Road have asked the administrator of Karachi, deputy commissioner of South and Sindh Rangers officials to take action against ‘illegal parking fee’ charged by Peoples Square management in their residential area.

In a letter written to the city administrator, deputy commissioner of south, Sindh Rangers, municipal commissioner of KMC, assistant commissioner of Arambagh and administrator of south, the residents stated that they had been living in the vicinity for the past many years and parking their vehicles near their homes.

“From 1st November 2022, the people belonging to Peoples Square started charging Rs80 and Rs30 for car and bike, respectively, for parking,” they added.

The residents requested the authorities to look into the matter and get them rid of the menace.
