TAXILA: A trader died while his companion sustained injuries when their motorcycle rammed into construction material dumped in the middle of the road in the limits of Taxila police station on Monday.

This was the second incident in which a security guard of a nearby industrial complex hit the construction material and died.

Eyewitnesses and hospital sources said that Shakeel Siddiqui, office-bearer of a local jewelers association along with his friend Nafees Ahmed was returning on his motorcycle after attending a Seerat

Conference when his motorcycle hit construction material due to poor visibility placed on the road by the contractor resultantly he died on the spot due to head injuries while his friend received multiple injuries.

A man was assassinated by an unknown masked man in the far flung and remote village of Nikka Afghanan in the limits of Injra police station of Attock on Monday. Moreover, three of a family sustained injuries when the roof of their decades old house caved in due to heavy rain in Mohallah Takia in the limits of Jand Police station of Attock in the early hours of Monday.

According to rescue 1122 sources, Akaram along with his wife and 12-year-old-son was sleeping in his house when the roof of their house caved in.

Later local volunteers and Rescue 1122 retrieved them and shifted them to THQ hospital Jand.

Respective police registered separate cases and launched further investigation.
