ISLAMABAD: Robbers looted cash and valuables from 22 places in the capital, police said on Thursday.

In the first incident, two gunmen intercepted and held up Sikandar Hayat, a bykea driver, and his passenger at Dharik Mohari and looted his motorcycle, the police said, adding a gang of robbers intercepted Sultan Mehmood at Koral and snatched Rs30,000 and a mobile phone from him.

Moreover, burglars broke into the mobile shop of Azkar Hussain at Jagyot Road and made off with phones worth Rs113,000, accessories worth Rs15,000 and cash Rs10,000, the police said. Burglars also broke into the house of Khizar Hayat at Bhara Kahu and made off with wrist watches and bathroom fittings.

Likewise, burglars stole household items worth Rs40,000 from the house of Omair Khan at Saadat Town. Gold ornaments worth Rs200,000 of a girl were stolen from a hotel where she was stating to appear in an exam.

Similarly, a security guard stole different items including split AC worth Rs273,500 from the house of M. Irfan at F-8/3, the police said.

Furthermore, culprits snatched mobile phones from a number of citizens in different parts of the city.

Meanwhile, two cars were stolen from G-14/4 and the H-9 weekly bazaar while eight motorcycles were lifted from Sharifabad, Media Town, Tarnol, Kohsar Town, H-9 weekly bazaar and Khanna.
