KHYBER: A teenage girl died of dengue in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber district on Sunday.

Family sources said Fajar, 13, was diagnosed with dengue some 10 days ago, and had since been under treatment at Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar.

Her condition deteriorated late on Saturday and she died early on Sunday.

It was the second death from dengue in Jamrud as another resident, Qari Shah Zeb, had died some two weeks ago.

The local residents demanded stringent efforts by the health authorities to control the dengue virus in the region.
