KHUZDAR: A mentally challenged man was killed when the grenade he was carrying in his hand exploded in Mangochar area of Kalat district late on Thursday evening. The blast also left two people injured.

According to officials, the deceased, identified as Nasibullah, was carrying a grenade, which exploded in his hand and killing him on the spot.

Levies force officials rushed to the site and shifted the body and the injured to the district hospital. The injured, identified as Niazullah and Mujeebullah, were admitted to the hospital. The deceased was mentally challenged, the officials said, quoting his family, but added that an investigation into the incident was under way.

Meanwhile, unknown armed men gunned down a 15-year-old boy and injured his sister in Noorgama village in Zehri tehsil of Khuzdar district on Thursday. Levies said the assailants barged into the house of a person named Ayub Raisani and opened fire.

As a result, Yasir Ayub Raisani was killed on the spot while his sister was injured. The body and the injured were shifted to a nearby health facility. Levies officials linked the incident to old enmity.
