Karachi marathon

KARACHI, Jan 28: A total prize of Rs.150,000, with the winner richer by Rs.50,000, will be at stake in the 13th Karachi City PMA-Lipton Marathon 2002, to be held Sunday, March 3,2002, on its traditional route, it was announced here Monday.

Besides several cash awards for winners and runners-up in six different categories of the marathon will also be awarded.

The marathon is open to anyone wishing to compete in the full distance (26 miles) or the half-marathon (13.5 miles). There will be a separate event “Health Walk”.

According to a press release the money collected from sponsorships, donations and registration will be donated towards a charity of the city.
