ISLAMABAD, Jan 28: The final draft on youth policy will be completed within next three months, Yousaf Kamal, the secretary, ministry of minorities, culture and youth, said here on Monday at a pre-national seminar on youth policy being held on Tuesday.
Almost 35 million youth, which comprises one-fourth of the total population, needs attention of the authorities, he said.
The ministry, the secretary said, had categorised six areas — education, health, employment, participation, recreation and voluntarism — for discussion in the seminar.
“All these issues require an active participation from NGOs concerned so that a comprehensive youth policy may be prepared,” he said and regretted the efforts made by the successive governments for the formulation of youth policy.
He said, in mid 80s, drafting of youth policy was started but it was yet to be completed.
