PESHAWAR, Jan 28: A five-day international course on ‘child health in emergencies’ started at Khyber Medical College on Monday.
International Paediatric Association and Pakistan Paediatric Association have jointly organized the course in collaboration with the American Academy of Paediatrics, Johnson and Johnson Paediatric Institute, UNICEF and Khyber Medical College, says a press release.
Inaugurating the course, provincial education minister Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani highlighted the support offered by the people of Pakistan to more than 3 million Afghan refugees living in the country.
He reiterated that the government and people of Pakistan would continue to offer all possible assistance to the people of Afghanistan in rebuilding and reconstruction of their country.
Prof Ashfaq Ahmad Khan narrated the Afghan saga and the human miseries brought by war to Afghanistan.
He said the Pakistan Paediatric Association would do its best to relieve the suffering of Afghan children.
