Shaheen Shah Afridi has been appointed as an honorary Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Pakistani Twitter cannot be more happy — enough to offer to be arrested by the cricketer.

On Sunday, the KP police shared photos of Afridi in a policeman’s uniform at a ceremony that announced the “superstar Pakistani fast bowler” as a goodwill ambassador as well as an honorary DSP.

Afridi said he was “honoured” and thankful to the Pakistan forces for the work they do to keep the country safe.

Netizens reacted to the news, overjoyed and of course, there was an array of memes that followed suit.

Many willingly offered themselves to get arrested.

We have extra security for when New Zealand visits next time.

Others volunteered Hasan Ali as the first arrest for missing that catch in the World Cup tournament.

This user also got captain Babar Azam seized for “stealing millions of hearts”.

Netizens did not miss the cute moment between Afridi and his father while they were busy firing memes.

A boss move really.

Good morning to him and him only.

Are you also willing to get arrested by Afridi? Congratulations to the cricketer!

@Common the queen in England took part in a James Bond short film and another film about a fictional character called Paddington bear. It is okay to smile and laugh and do something fun occasionally. Nobody was harmed

This is f-king lunacy. Instead of being proud of him for being supportive of our law enforcement this nation is showing their true colors by making it about themselves Pathetic.
