ISLAMABAD: A seven-year-old girl who had gone missing five days ago was found dead in a nullah at Khanna on Monday.

Javaria went missing on June 29 after she left her house located in Pindorian. Khanna police registered a case under section 364-A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) in response to her father Zabiullah’s complaint. A passerby spotted the body in Korang Nullah and informed police.

Police shifted the body to the hospital for further legal proceedings. The child’s father was called for identification of the body, they said, adding an autopsy was being conducted to ascertain the actual cause of death.

The child and her two siblings used to collect discarded items from around their residential area, the police said, adding that on June 29, she left home to collect discarded items alone as her father and other siblings left for Mardan.

Her mother called Zabiullah and informed him about her disappearance, police said, adding that the next morning he reached the capital and lodged a complaint about his daughter’s disappearance.
