DERA GHAZI KHAN: Special anti-polio campaign has been launched to trace and vaccinate over 600 ‘missing’ children who avoided the drive in the past.
According to official sources, these children remained uncovered due to parents reluctance.
Deputy Commissioner Anwar Baryar presided over a meeting of health department staff on Friday to make the effort effective.
Talking to Dawn, Baryar said 600 children of seven union councils had missed the last vaccination.
He said the campaign had been started in Kot Habat, Jalu Alee, Mamoori, Sakhi Sarwar, Makwal Klawn, Madi and Mangrotha.
He said the campaign would continue till the accomplishment of the task.
Sources said local influential people would be engaged to convince parents to get their children vaccinated.
