PESHAWAR: A high-level official meeting held here on Friday decided to approach the provincial cabinet to form a commission for resolution of the boundary disputes among various tribes of Peshawar, Khyber, Orakzai, Kohat and the tribal subdivisions.
The meeting was chaired by commissioner Peshawar division Riaz Khan Mehsud.
Peshawar deputy commissioner Shafiullah Khan, Khyber deputy commissioner Shah Fahad, Kohat deputy commissioner Roshan Mehsud, Board of Revenue secretary Fazal Hussain and other officials attended the meeting, according to a statement issued here on Friday.
The statement said that the meeting discussed the boundary disputes, including Mirgatkhel, Kalakhel and Maroofkhel in Khyber district, Mattaniwal and Alikhel in Peshawar district, Akharwal in Kohat district and Ferozkhel in Orakzai district.
The meeting was briefed about these boundary disputes among various tribes.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mehsud directed the deputy commissioners concerned to formulate their recommendations in that regard within next three days so that a comprehensive report could be shared with the Board of Revenue.
He said that the Board of Revenue would approach the provincial cabinet for its approval to give legal cover to the recommendations to resolve the border disputes within the ambit of law.
