RAZMAK: Thwarted in their attempts to mislead the Pathans of the settled areas, the Khan Brothers in their last bid to regain power under the subservience of the Hindu Congress have now resorted to other tactics. Mr. Abdul Ghani, son of Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Khan, is now in Waziristan to win over the Faqir Sahib of Ipi to his side, says Colonel Shahpasand Khan Mahsud of South Waziristan in a telegram to “Dawn”.

He adds, this move of the Khan Brothers has caused a wave of resentment throughout Waziristan. It is to be hoped that the Faqir Sahib of Ipi will not fall prey to the Congress snares. The Azad Qabails (free tribes) have repeatedly affirmed their unflinching faith in Pakistan and they totally reject Hindustan, whether under the guise of Pathanistan or otherwise. The Azad Qabails are Muslims first and Pathans afterwards. … All attempts to woo the Faqir of Ipi will prove futile in this respect, he concludes.

[Meanwhile, as reported from Karachi,] … [T]he Auditor-General, Simla, has informed the Comptroller of Accounts, Sind, that as a result of the partition of India, about 5,000 men from Central departments, including about 270 gazetted officers … are being transferred to Karachi.
