Atif Aslam may be considered a national treasure for music lovers but his influence goes far beyond the borders of Pakistan and 'Rangreza' is just one example of it. The song has been trending in India and Bangladesh ever since its release and Indian fans are especially happy to welcome the superstar back.

'Rangreza' is part of the soundtrack for upcoming Punjabi film Lover and it dropped on June 24, a week before the movie's release. The music video depicts the film lead singing the song but any "Aadeez" (Aslam fan) can recognise his vocals right off the bat. The song crossed two million views on YouTube in less than 24 hours of its release.

Fans have flooded Twitter with their appreciation for the song and Aslam's "comeback". From tracking the song's progress to keep it high on the trending list to calling him a "legendary musician" who has "united" nations through music, fans have handed over their hearts freely to the song.

Indian fans welcomed Aslam's serenade with open arms.

They have also set targets to get the song to the top.

Only Aslam can save us from Vecna.

Trending here and there as well.

The real sabr ka meetha phal [fruit of patience].

Even Pakistani fans are happy about Aslam's comeback in India.

Have you listened to the song yet?

Quite impressive. The people of India Pakistan thinks same. They love each other, they should not be prevented from mixing and mingling. The new generation at both sides feels same, and do not have prejudices. The few religious fanatics in Pakistan, and India, must stop their vested politics of spreading hate. Let there be peace, tranquility, normalcy amongst the two great neighbors.

At least good for our jobless Pakistani singer to get some roti on the table. Our Film industry has outright disappointed us.

Correct me if I'm wrong, India openly boycotts anything and anyone to do with Pakistan and us Pakistanis have no self respect. Why is he collaborating with the Indian film industry and if its a case of politics and the arts are two separate things that's a load of nonsense. You have to respect yourself first and then others will respect you. They whistled and he went running like a dog

How can you sing for an enemy nation that steals our songs and occupies Kashmir and routinely massacres Muslims. Has Atif no shame?

We have seen Bollywood has no standard they copy Pakistani songs from new to old even from Coke studio as well and they love to listen to Pakistani Coke Studio songs. Bollywood need Pakistani singers more than we do.

Looks like Indian punjab don’t care about BJP for inviting Pakistani singer. This further tells Indian Sikhs don’t care about hindu majority India when dealing with pakistan.
