Some 95,000 members, all from different age groups, opinions, professions, origins have united on one digital space Foodies & Friends all for their love for food and passion to grow their culinary skills.

Since August 14, 2017, Foodies & Friends, also known as FnF, was started by Mr Khurram A. Khan with a vision of creating a community space for people interested in food to endorse their talents and facilitate their growth.

Khurram saw this void after being in the food industry as an eatery owner and decided to launch Foodies & Friends. The community encourages home chefs and its initiatives are crafted to encourage growth of people tied to the culinary arts.

The year 2022 will mark five years to FnF, which has now become one of the most engaging communities on social media with over 200 people posting recipes and food reviews, and with daily competition entries and up to 5,000 daily interactions.

Awarded and recognised as “Best Social Media Platform” for the food category in November 2019, Foodies & Friends is not just a name anymore but has become a family to its members where their efforts are encouraged and talents recognised by not just other members but by brands as well.

The community is not limited to online interactions anymore and FnF has developed multiple projects focusing on growth areas for its members. For example, its Meet-Eat-And-Write, also known as M.E.W., programme is focused on showcasing food from multiple cultures via their reviewers who go on to try multiple cuisines and eateries and write about them.

Its Institute of Skills and Development (ISD) is yet another initiative focusing on personal uplifting and learning, under which multiple sessions led by industry professionals are held. Additionally, “Art of Now” and “Blogging 101” are among its most successful sessions up until now.

Keeping the fun element alive, FnF also holds regular family events that form the bonding glue of this community. A typical FnF event looks like a lot of members in one place, pretty much like a family meet-up, where members enjoy food, music and community.

What sets these events apart is the warmth of the gatherings and the Tambola, the unique bingo game where members win prizes. The events usually get fully booked within 30 minutes of announcement, and see a turnout of over 200 people easily in all three cities — Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.

With all that it has to offer, FnF has now become a growing space for those who want to excel, learn and improve. You wouldn't that many local communities like Foodies & Friends, which believe in real growth as opposed to just growing in numbers.
