RAWALPINDI: Financial loss of Rs9 million was faced by the Metro Bus Service administration during the last three days after the service remained suspended between Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
“We suffered a loss of Rs3 million per day during the suspension of the bus service between Rawalpindi and Islamabad because 100,000 people used the bus service daily,” saidPunjab Masstransit Authority General Manager Syed Uzair Shah while talking to Dawn.
On the other hand, residents of the twin cities had to go through trouble as their main source of transportation remained suspended for the last three days. Public transport was on roads but people urged the government to improve security.
“The government made a glass structure which was a wrong decision as it was an easy target for protesters. It has become commonplace for protesters in Rawalpindi and Islamabad to take out their anger on public property,” said Mohammad Naveed, a resident of Satellite Town.
