LAHORE: The Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Saturday claimed to have arrested five terrorists with explosive material, banned literature and a truck in multiple raids across the province.

The CTD spokesperson said 22 IBOs were conducted across Punjab and 23 suspects interrogated. The suspected terrorists were identified as Muhammad Abu Sufiyan, Muhammad Imran Raza, Lala Zada, Sanaullah and Abdul Razzaq. He said 570gm explosive, an improvised explosive device, safety fuse, a hand-grenade, four non-electric detonators, a pistol with 7 bullets, banned literature, a flag of banned organisation TTP, five cell phones, a vehicle (truck) and Rs23,490 in cash were recovered from the suspects.

He said the security personnel also interrogated 23 suspects and lodged 33 FIRs against them in a week.
